BEA FOR the 7TH DISTRICT

BEA'S HEART IS FOR GOD, HER FAMILY, AND HER COMMUNITY. . .

Listen to Bea's personal story about how she feels God is leading her to be a voice for the 7th District.

     Dear 7th District Community

I began this journey with one main motive; to make a difference.  As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, foster mom, student, and teacher, I feel it is extremely important to make a difference while we can. Quoting John Wesley, "We must try to do all the good we can, in all the places we can, at all the times we can, to all the people we can for as long as we can."

So, my motive turned into my prayer, and I began to pray about how I could make a difference not just for my community or state but also for God.  I was so frustrated with this past election that I prayed a lot.  I am a praying person but during those challenging times I was praying more than I ever have before.  Every time I felt myself getting upset, I would pray.

As a Christian, I feel it is my job to pray when I am upset, pray when I am concerned, when I am joyful, when I'm discouraged, or confused, when I am thankful.  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 states, rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

So, I prayed for the mess that I was seeing every day, and I prayed for our leaders- the people in elected offices- for God to give them wisdom and to help them do what's right for this country -because we are also called to pray for them – pray for our leaders. 1 Timothy 2 states, I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

God has put certain people in places of leadership – even if we don't like it, God has a reason, and we must trust and have faith in His will and His way.  Romans 13:1 states, let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.

So, I prayed and followed where the Lord was leading.  And it is through those prayers, my faith and His leading that I am running for the 7th Congressional District. After taking the steps to run for Congress, I prayed and asked The Lord to help me know what He wanted me to do now that I had taken that first step.  Ever since that first step of faith – God has been in this with me.  I have seen Him work, I have felt His encouragement, I have heard His words of inspiration through His church and His people.

God is in this with me.  I know He is -because I am trusting in Him every step of the way.  I have to...  I have no prior knowledge or understanding about running for any office or doing any of this.  I don't know what to expect or what things are supposed to look like or the ins and outs of how everything works.  All I know is that I love this country with all my heart, and I love this state, and this community and I serve a mighty and trustworthy God.  God was and still is working this out as I trust Him.

I say all of that just to let you know I am nothing special.  I am just a girl who wants to be in God's will and bring Him glory anyway I can.  I have nothing, I am nothing, and I can do nothing apart from God.  I don't know what God wants to accomplish through this and I'm not sure how all of this is going to turn out.  As most of you know – me winning this race is seen as a long shot – a "what's the point" kind of scenario..... but I do know that if God wants me to win then I will win, and nothing will stop it.

I also know that winning for me is being obedient to God's call and if I do that- no matter how this all turns out- I am a winner.  I also know there are many, many people praying for our country right now.  I know many Christians, all over the country who are putting feet to their prayers and taking a stand for their faith now more than ever before.

For now, I will keep praying, I will keep believing, I will keep trusting, and I will keep fighting for this awesome country! This country that God blessed us with so long ago.

God bless you and God bless The United States of America!

Yours,

Bea
